Waiting for a Perfect Protest
This article calls out media bias when it comes to news coverage on situations involving minorities. Often within our society, African Americans tend to be portrayed negatively or in a harsher light. In example would be with the flood in Huston, a black boy was deemed as "looting and stealing from a store" while a white couple was viewed as "scourraging from a store to help others" both doing the same acts, however, one viewed in a harsher light. This article shows how some people were also equating the violent acts of present day Nazi's and Racists protests to the same extent as our Equal Rights protest, such as the Black Lives Matter Movement. These two groups protests for completely different things, one for a white supremacy and the other for peace and equality. The other difference would be that white supremacist purposely incites violence while the equal rights protests usually aim for a peaceful march, not a tragic and violent riot. About 50 years later and African Americans and Women are still fighting to get their rights from the White Man.
